Add the Allinaa chatbot to a Squarespace site
Written by the Allinaa team · Updated
Of all the platforms we cover, Squarespace is the quickest: three steps in one settings screen. The only real question is whether your plan includes code injection, so start there.
Plan check: Core, Plus or Advanced
Squarespace's code injection is available on the Core, Plus and Advanced plans and some legacy plans. It is not available on the Basic plan. To see your plan, open your site's billing settings. If you are on Basic, you would need to change plans before the assistant can be added through code injection.
The plan details and the steps below come from Squarespace's help article Using code injection.
Get your Allinaa code
Start the 14-day free trial at bot.allinaa.com/start. After you confirm your e-mail, the setup wizard reads your public Squarespace pages and drafts your assistant's knowledge. Read it carefully and correct anything that is out of date before you approve it; the assistant answers only from what you approve. Step 5, "Install", shows your code:
<script src="https://bot.allinaa.com/widget.js" data-bot-id="your-bot-id" defer></script>
Step by step: Code Injection > Footer
- Open Website Tools > Code Injection.
- Paste your code into the Footer field. Squarespace adds footer code just before
</body>on every page. - Click Save.
That's it. There is nothing to publish separately: the code is live on your site after you save.
Checkout pages
Squarespace does not run injected code on checkout pages, so the chat button won't appear there. If you sell products, services or digital downloads, add the questions buyers ask right before paying (refund policy, delivery of digital files, session rescheduling) to your approved knowledge, so the assistant answers them on the product or booking page before the visitor reaches checkout.
Check the installation
- Log out of Squarespace or open a private browser window, then visit your live site.
- Look for the chat button in a bottom corner and ask a question your knowledge covers.
- In your Allinaa cabinet, click Check my site. It reads your homepage and up to two pages it links to and reports found, not found or unreachable.
If it doesn't appear
- Plan: on the Basic plan the Code Injection screen won't accept code.
- Wrong field: make sure the code is in the Footer field of the site-wide Code Injection screen.
- Site visibility: if your site is private or password-protected, the check can't read it, though you can still test it yourself while logged in.
- Checkout: the button is meant to be absent there.

Frequently asked questions
Can I add the chatbot on the Squarespace Basic plan?
Not through code injection. Squarespace offers code injection on the Core, Plus and Advanced plans and some legacy plans, but not on Basic.
Do I need to republish my Squarespace site after adding the code?
No. The code is live after you click Save in the Code Injection screen.
Why is the chat button missing on my Squarespace checkout?
Squarespace does not run injected code on checkout pages. Answer pre-checkout questions in your approved knowledge so the assistant handles them earlier.
