Add the Allinaa chatbot to a GoDaddy Website Builder site
Written by the Allinaa team · Updated
GoDaddy's Website Builder has no app store for chat widgets, so the Allinaa assistant is added with its one-line code. GoDaddy's own help page describes custom code as an HTML section that you add to a page, which means the code goes on each page where you want the chat. This guide says what GoDaddy's page confirms, what it does not, and how to check the result.
What GoDaddy's help page confirms
GoDaddy's article Add HTML or custom code to my site explains how to add an HTML section to a page of your site and paste code into it. That is the official route, and it is per page: a section belongs to the page it sits on. Some vendor guides describe a site-wide code setting as well; we could not confirm one on a GoDaddy page, so if your editor shows such a setting, GoDaddy's help is the authority on where it applies. Whether a particular plan is needed is not stated in the source we could open.
Get your code
You need your own code first. Sign up at bot.allinaa.com/start for the 14-day free trial, confirm your e-mail and follow the setup wizard; step 5, "Install", shows one line:
<script src="https://bot.allinaa.com/widget.js" data-bot-id="your-bot-id" defer></script>Step by step: an HTML section per page
- Open your site in the Website Builder editor and go to the page where the chat should appear, starting with the homepage.
- Add a section and choose the HTML type, as GoDaddy's article shows.
- Paste your code into the section. Its position on the page does not matter: the chat button is drawn in a corner of the screen, not inside the section.
- Save, then repeat on each page that should have the chat.
- Publish the site. Changes in the editor are not live until you publish.
Which pages to choose
Because the code is per page, the assistant appears only where you added it. Start with the pages visitors land on from search engines: the homepage, your services or products, contact and about. A visitor who moves to a page without the section loses the button there and gets it back on the next page that has it; the conversation continues, because it is tied to the visitor, not to the page. Leave the section off any page that shows a customer's own data.
Check the installation
- Open the published site, not the editor, in a private browser window.
- Look for the chat button in a bottom corner, then open a second page.
- Ask something your approved knowledge covers.
- In your Allinaa cabinet click Check my site: it reads your homepage and up to two pages it links to and answers found, not found or unreachable.
If the button does not appear
- The site is not published since you added the section.
- You are on a page without the section. Open the homepage, where you added it first.
- The code shows as text. It was pasted into a text section; remove it there and use an HTML section.
- Check my site says not found but you see the button: the check read a page without the section, or a cached copy. The status turns to installed once the assistant loads on a page.
More causes are on the troubleshooting page. If someone else maintains the site, send them the code from your cabinet instead.
Frequently asked questions
Can I add the chatbot to every GoDaddy page at once?
GoDaddy's help describes an HTML section per page. A site-wide code setting is not confirmed on a GoDaddy page; if your editor offers one, follow GoDaddy's help for it.
Does it need a paid GoDaddy plan?
Not verified: the help page we could open does not say. If the HTML section is missing from your editor, GoDaddy's help or support can tell you.
Is the code safe to paste into an HTML section?
Yes. It contains the script address, your public bot id and the defer attribute, and no password or key.
Will the section slow the page down?
The script is deferred, so the browser shows the page first and loads the assistant after it.
