WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger: built on Meta's official APIs, not live yet
Written by the Allinaa team · Updated
Short version: Allinaa has built connections for WhatsApp, Instagram direct messages and Facebook Messenger on Meta's official platforms, and none of them is live for customers yet. They become available once Meta approves Allinaa's app. We don't have a date, and we won't guess one.
Status: built, available once Meta approves Allinaa
"Built" means the code exists and passes tests against simulated versions of Meta's APIs, including signed webhooks, replies and the sign-up window businesses use to link their own WhatsApp number. "Not live" means no real business account is connected yet and no customer can switch these channels on, because Meta has not yet granted Allinaa's app the access it needs.
| Connection | Built | Live for customers |
|---|---|---|
| WhatsApp Cloud API (not yet live) | Yes, tested against a simulated API | Not yet: available once Meta approves Allinaa |
| Instagram direct messages (not yet live) | Yes, tested against a simulated API | Not yet: available once Meta approves Allinaa |
| Facebook Messenger, Page inbox (not yet live) | Yes, tested against a simulated API | Not yet: available once Meta approves Allinaa |
| Comments on Facebook and Instagram posts (not yet live) | Yes, tested against a simulated API | Not yet; see comment and review replies |
If anything you read suggests you can already run an Allinaa assistant on WhatsApp, Instagram or Messenger, this is the current answer: not yet. These channels are available once Meta approves Allinaa, and this page changes when that happens.
Official platforms vs. unofficial automation tools
Search for a WhatsApp chatbot and you will find two kinds of tools. Allinaa will offer only the first kind, once the platform approves it:
- The official WhatsApp Business Platform (Cloud API). Meta provides it to businesses and to technology providers it approves. Messages go through Meta's servers under Meta's rules, with approved message templates and published fees. This is what Allinaa built on; it is available once Meta approves Allinaa.
- Unofficial automation. Tools that drive the messaging app itself, or its web version, on a phone or a server, often sold as "no approval needed". WhatsApp's terms of service do not allow automated or bulk messaging through unauthorized means, and an account that breaks the terms can be banned, which is why Allinaa's WhatsApp connection is available once Meta approves Allinaa, and not before. A banned number can mean losing the contact point your customers know.
The same applies to Instagram and Messenger: any app that reads or sends messages for other businesses' accounts must pass Meta's App Review and follow the Messenger Platform policy. Until that review is done, a provider can connect only its own test accounts. That is why these channels are not yet live, and why a tool that skips this step should make you cautious.
How connecting is designed to work, once Meta approves Allinaa
- In the Allinaa cabinet (Premium), you open Connections and start the connection. Meta's own sign-in window opens; this step is available once Meta approves Allinaa.
- You choose your own WhatsApp Business account and phone number, Instagram professional account or Facebook Page; this step, too, is available once Meta approves Allinaa. They stay yours, not Allinaa's, and Allinaa never sees your Meta password.
- For WhatsApp, once it is live, you add a payment method with Meta for Meta's messaging fees (WhatsApp is not yet live today). Meta bills your business directly; Allinaa never handles your card.
- Like every new channel connection, it starts in Human only mode by default (you can pick another mode when you connect): messages arrive for your team and the AI stays silent until you switch the connection to AI.
Once the platform approves Allinaa, these messages would land in the same Premium unified inbox as your website chat and Telegram bot, answered from the same approved knowledge, and anyone on your team could take a conversation and hand it back.
Meta's messaging windows, templates and fees
These rules come from Meta, not Allinaa, apply to any official provider, and will matter once the channels are available:
- The customer service window (WhatsApp, available once Meta approves Allinaa). When a customer messages your business, a 24-hour window opens and you can reply freely. Outside it, Meta allows only pre-approved message templates. Meta explains this in its sending messages guide.
- Templates (WhatsApp, not yet live). Messages outside the window must use templates that Meta reviews and puts in categories such as marketing or utility. Allinaa does not send marketing broadcasts.
- Fees (WhatsApp, not yet live). Meta charges per message, and the rate depends on the message type and the customer's country. Rates change, so we link Meta's current pricing page instead of quoting numbers. Once the connection is live, Meta bills these fees to your business.
- Reply windows on Instagram and Messenger (available once Meta approves Allinaa). A business generally has a standard window after a customer's last message to reply, and a separate human-agent permission lets a person answer later; Meta describes it in its human agent documentation. When a window has closed, the Allinaa inbox shows why a reply can't be sent instead of failing silently.
What a reply looks like once the platform approves Allinaa
DM after an Instagram post (a channel that is not yet live): how much is a balayage and do u have anything sat?
Assistant: Balayage pricing depends on hair length. Our menu lists the starting price, and a stylist confirms the final one at a short consultation. I can't see the live schedule, but I can send your request for Saturday to the team. What's the best number to reach you?
Illustrative example for an invented salon, written for a channel that is not live yet.
The assistant does not invent an opening on Saturday. It sends a request your staff confirms, exactly as it does in the website chat today.
What you can use today
- The website chat widget, on Standard and Premium. Many social DMs are pre-sales questions that your website can answer for people who tap the link in your bio.
- Your own Telegram bot, on Premium, live today.
- Inquiry capture with e-mail notifications and an inquiry inbox, so leads from your website reach you right away.
A practical step while you wait: list the ten questions you answer most in WhatsApp and Instagram DMs this month (both not yet live in Allinaa), and add good answers to your knowledge. They will be ready on day one. To hear when a channel opens, write to info@allinaa.com with your business name and the channel in the subject.
Questions
Is there a launch date for these channels?
We don't have a date. They become available once Meta approves Allinaa, and that timing is up to Meta.
Will I have to give Allinaa my phone number or Meta login?
No. Once the platform approves Allinaa, you would sign in through Meta's own window and keep ownership of your account and number.
Will the AI reply to every DM automatically?
Only if you choose that. Each connection starts in Human only mode unless you pick another mode when you connect; you can keep it there or switch it to AI once Meta approves Allinaa and the channel is live.
Will it cost more than my Allinaa plan?
Meta's per-message WhatsApp fees would be billed by Meta to your business once the connection is live; it is not yet live. Allinaa has not published a separate price for these channels.
Do I need a business or creator account?
Yes. Meta's messaging APIs work with WhatsApp Business accounts, professional Instagram accounts and Facebook Pages, so a personal profile would not connect once the platform approves Allinaa.
