The Allinaa website chat widget

Written by the Allinaa team · Updated

The website chat widget is the channel every Allinaa plan includes, and the one that has been in production the longest: it has answered visitors on allinaa.com since September 2026. The chat button in the corner of this page is the same widget.

What visitors see

A small chat button sits in a corner of your site. When a visitor opens it, they see your business name, your greeting and your brand color, not a generic bot. You choose the color and write the greeting in the setup wizard, and you can go back and change both later.

The visitor types a question the way they would text a person. The assistant answers in a few sentences, may ask one short question to understand what they need, and offers a way to reach your team when that is the sensible next step.

An illustrative exchange (an invented kitchen-remodeling company, not a real customer):

Visitor, on the "Cabinet refacing" page: How long does this take? We'd rather not lose the kitchen for a month.

Assistant: For cabinet refacing, the information on this page says most kitchens take three to five working days, and you can keep using the sink and appliances in the meantime. The exact time depends on the number of doors. Would you like the team to look at your kitchen and give you a firm schedule?

The answer is only as good as the information behind it. If the page or the approved knowledge did not mention a timeline, the assistant should say it does not know and offer to pass the question on, rather than make one up.

Answers from information you approved

The assistant answers from the knowledge your business approves. When you sign up, the setup wizard can read up to ten public pages of your own website and write a first draft: services, hours, areas you serve, policies. Nothing is used until you read the draft, edit it and press "Use this". The wizard also tells you plainly that the page text is sent to the AI provider and that the AI can still get a fact wrong.

Good knowledge for a website assistant usually covers:

  • what you sell or do, in the words your customers use;
  • opening hours, service area and how quickly you respond;
  • prices or price ranges you are happy to publish (the assistant should not invent prices you have not written);
  • booking, payment, delivery and cancellation rules;
  • the questions you hear on the phone every week, with your real answers;
  • topics it should always hand to a person, such as complaints or legal questions.

On Standard, you can flag an answer you want changed; our team reviews the correction, tests it and applies it. Corrections are never applied automatically, and old conversations are never rewritten.

Answers that know which page the visitor is on

The widget tells the assistant which page of your site the visitor is reading, so "how long does this take?" on a refacing page gets a refacing answer. Query strings, fragments and any login details are removed from the page address first, pages whose address has a private segment such as /checkout/ or /account/ are skipped, and links the AI might invent are removed before the reply is shown. More detail is on the page-aware answers page.

Inquiry capture with the visitor's consent

When a visitor wants a quote, a call back or an appointment, the assistant asks up to three short questions, one at a time, to fill in what is missing, then offers the inquiry form inside the chat. The visitor reviews the details, gives one way to contact them and confirms that you may get in touch. Only then is the inquiry saved.

  • You get an e-mail notification for each new inquiry.
  • The visitor gets an e-mail confirmation of what they sent.
  • Your inquiry inbox shows each request with a status (New, In progress, Completed), private notes for your team, search, filters and CSV export.

If a visitor changes a detail in the form, the saved record and both e-mails use what they confirmed, not the earlier chat. See lead capture for the full flow.

Conversations that continue across pages and visits

A visitor can read your pricing page, move to the contact page and come back tomorrow without starting over: the conversation follows them across pages and return visits on the same browser. A "New conversation" button lets them start fresh; the old conversation is closed, not deleted, so your records stay complete.

Languages: three on Standard, all supported on Premium

Standard includes three configured languages: American English by default, plus two more you choose. Premium includes all supported languages, 108 at the moment, and new ones become available to Premium automatically. The assistant replies in the visitor's language when it is one of your configured languages. Machine-generated answers in a second language deserve a spot check by someone who speaks it.

What Premium adds inside the widget

  • Visitors can send photos, screenshots and documents; files are checked for malware and stored privately.
  • The assistant can find products in your catalog from a photo or a question, with price, availability and a link.
  • Team accounts with roles, and live takeover: a person on your team can take a chat from the AI and hand it back.
  • One inbox for website chat and your Telegram bot.

Installing it on your site

The widget is one line of code, shown in your cabinet with a copy button:

<script src="https://bot.allinaa.com/widget.js" data-bot-id="your-business" defer></script>

The cabinet has step-by-step guides for WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, Tilda, Google Tag Manager and plain HTML, a small WordPress plugin generated for your business, a button that e-mails the code to your web developer, and an installation check that looks for the widget on your homepage. See the installation guides.

Limits worth knowing

  • Standard includes 2,000 AI replies per month. If the allowance runs out, the chat falls back to the inquiry form, so visitors can still reach you. Premium has no monthly cap on AI replies (per-channel flood limits apply).
  • The free trial lasts 14 days and includes 200 AI replies. When it ends, the assistant stops answering and the chat keeps offering the inquiry form.
  • Standard covers one website. AI answers can be wrong, so review the knowledge before you go live and read some conversations in the first weeks.

Questions

Can I change the greeting and color after launch?

Yes. The look step of the setup wizard can be revisited at any time, and nothing in the wizard is irreversible.

What happens when the assistant does not know an answer?

It should say so and offer the inquiry form or a request for a team member to follow up, instead of guessing. Questions it could not answer are a good list of things to add to your knowledge.

Do I need a developer to install the widget?

Usually not. The cabinet has guides for the common website builders and a WordPress plugin. If someone else manages your site, the cabinet can e-mail them the code and the instructions.

Does the widget work on phones?

Yes. The widget runs in mobile browsers, and page-aware answers were tested on a phone browser before launch.
