Add the Allinaa chatbot to a Webflow site

Written by the Allinaa team · Updated

The single most common Webflow mistake is saving the code and forgetting to publish. In Webflow, custom code goes live only when you publish the site, so the chat button will not appear until you do.

Plan requirement (per Webflow's help center)

According to Webflow's help center article on custom code in head and body tags, custom code needs a paid Webflow Site plan, or a Core, Growth, Agency or Freelancer Workspace. We could not open that page directly when we wrote this guide, so treat the plan list as Webflow's statement and check your own plan in Webflow if the Custom code fields are locked.

Get your Allinaa code

Sign up at bot.allinaa.com/start for the 14-day free trial. The setup wizard reads your published Webflow pages to draft the assistant's knowledge; edit it until it reads the way you would answer a prospect yourself, then approve it. Step 5, "Install", shows your code:

<script src="https://bot.allinaa.com/widget.js" data-bot-id="your-bot-id" defer></script>

Step by step: Site settings > Custom code > Footer code

  1. Open your project's Site settings.
  2. Click the Custom code tab.
  3. Paste your code into the Footer code field, which Webflow places before </body>.
  4. Save, then publish your site.

These steps follow the Webflow University lesson on page-level and site-level custom code. Site-level footer code is the right place for the assistant because it covers every page, including pages you add later.

Publish: the step people forget

Webflow keeps your saved settings as a draft until you publish. After saving the footer code:

  • Click Publish and select every domain your visitors use.
  • Look at the result on the live site, not in the Designer. Custom code doesn't run inside the Designer canvas, so an empty corner there doesn't mean anything is wrong.
  • Remember the Allinaa check reads the website address saved in your Allinaa account. If you published only to a staging address, the check won't find the code on your main domain until you publish there too.

Check the installation

  1. Open your published site in a private browser window and find the chat button.
  2. Visit a second page and ask a question about it, to see page-aware answers in action.
  3. In your Allinaa cabinet, click Check my site. It reads your homepage and up to two linked pages and reports whether your code was found.

If the button still isn't there, see chatbot not showing. If your Webflow plan can't use custom code, an exported or hand-built site can follow the plain HTML guide.

Frequently asked questions

Why don't I see the chatbot in the Webflow Designer?

Custom code doesn't run inside the Designer canvas. Publish the site and check the live page instead.

Which Webflow plans allow custom code?

Webflow's help center lists a paid Site plan or a Core, Growth, Agency or Freelancer Workspace. Check your plan in Webflow if the Custom code fields are locked.

Should I use page-level or site-level custom code for the chatbot?

Site-level footer code. It puts the assistant on every page, including pages you create later.

Does the chatbot work on Webflow landing pages?

Yes. Site-level footer code covers every page, and the assistant knows which page the visitor is viewing.
