What a website chatbot cannot do
Written by the Allinaa team · Updated
Every chatbot page on the internet lists what the thing can do. This one lists what it cannot, because the limits are what decide whether it will work for you, and because a business that installs one expecting the wrong thing is unhappy in week two. Some of these are limits of the technology; some are limits of Allinaa specifically, and they are marked.
It does not know what time it is
A language model has no clock. Allinaa's assistant can read your opening hours out of your knowledge, but it cannot work out whether you are open right now, cannot say "we close in twenty minutes", and cannot count days to a deadline. If you want "we are closed today", a person has to put that in the knowledge for today. Any vendor whose demo shows a bot reasoning about the current time is showing you a scripted answer.
It cannot see your other systems
It has no access to your accounting, your bookings diary, your stock, your ticketing system, your CRM or your project tools unless something has been deliberately connected. So it cannot tell a customer their balance, whether a unit is free on Friday, where their order is, or what their appointment time is. Those questions arrive constantly, and the right behaviour is to say so and hand over to a person - which is what Allinaa does, and it is why that sentence is worth writing in your own words. See existing-customer questions.
It can be wrong
It answers from the knowledge you approve, which removes most invention, but it can still be vague, miss a condition, or combine two true sentences into a misleading one. There is no setting that makes that impossible. What exists is a correction workflow: you flag the reply, the answer is corrected, and the knowledge gets a new version so the fix is permanent. A vendor promising accuracy without one has only the promise. See how accurate a chatbot is.
It should not make the judgement calls
It cannot diagnose a fault, price work it has not seen, say whether a claim will be covered, advise on a medicine or a symptom, tell somebody they are legally allowed to do something, or promise that a stain will come out. Those are not gaps to be filled by a better model; they are decisions that belong to a person who is accountable for them. The useful design is to collect the facts and route them, which is what every industry page on this site describes.
Things Allinaa in particular cannot do
- Channels that are built but not live. Only the website chat and Telegram are live-verified today. WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, Facebook and Instagram comments, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, LinkedIn Page comments, Google reviews, Viber, LINE, WeChat and Discord are implemented and waiting on each platform approving Allinaa. The e-mail channel is built but not yet verified with a real mailbox.
- No compliance certification. Allinaa is not HIPAA compliant and holds no security certification; it makes no such claim. If your sector requires one, that is a reason not to put patient or client detail into any chat. See regulated industries.
- Standard is three languages. All supported languages - 108 today - are a Premium entitlement, not a Standard one. See choosing your languages.
- No phone calls and no voice. It is a chat on your website and in connected messaging channels. It does not answer your telephone.
- Some Premium tools are not switches you flip yourself. A few of them are set up with the Allinaa team for your business, so if you need one the setup is a conversation rather than a toggle - ask what the current position is before you build a plan around it.
- It does not write your knowledge for you. It can be pointed at your website to draft from, but the facts, the prices and the boundaries have to be approved by somebody in your business. That hour is the real cost of setting one up. See what to put in the knowledge.
It does not replace the person who answers hard questions
It answers the questions that repeat, which in most businesses is the large majority of them, and it collects a complete request for the rest. The effect is that your team spends its day on the conversations that need a human, not that your team gets smaller. Anybody selling the other version is selling something they cannot deliver. Questions people ask about this
So what is it actually good at?
Questions with one correct answer that your business repeats daily - hours, area, prices you publish, what a service includes, what you need before you can help - and collecting a complete, qualified request at an hour when nobody can answer the phone.
Will the limits change?
Some will: the channels waiting on platform approval are built, so they become available as each platform approves Allinaa. The clock, the judgement calls and the need for somebody to approve the facts will not.
Is it worth it with all those limits?
That depends on how many of your enquiries are repeat questions and how many calls you miss. The honest way to find out is the free trial on your own site with your own visitors. See is a chatbot worth it.
